Verification on Welile
Welile moves real rent between real people, so it checks that the people and the properties are real. This section covers each check, what it needs from you, and what to do when one does not pass.
Identity
Adding your National ID number to your account, and what to do if it is already registered.
Parent-agent ID linkingThe approved route for a sub-agent who does not yet have their own National ID card.
Photos
One clear face, good light, facing the camera, nothing covering it.
The photo check failedThe next step will not unlock. The cause and the retake that clears it.
Verification calls
Before a Rent Plan is funded, Welile telephones the tenant and the landlord separately to confirm the details in the application. Neither call asks for a PIN, a password or a payment.
- What the verification calls check — what is asked, and how an agent prepares both parties.
- When a Rent Request is rejected — including the two commonest outcomes, an unreachable tenant and an unreachable landlord.
Property and landlord checks
A house listing is verified before it appears publicly, and a landlord's ownership and payout number are confirmed before rent is paid out.
- Listing a house — the location, daylight-photo and LC1 requirements a listing has to meet.
- Pay a landlord — the location record, the signed receipt and the landlord's own confirmation code.
Verification and your money
Verification is what stands between your earnings and your Mobile Money, so it is worth knowing which check applies to which step.
- What you need before you can withdraw — every requirement, including the identity one.
- Payment codes explained — which codes confirm a payment and which confirm an account.
Welile verifies you inside the app, or by a call that only asks you to confirm details you already know. Nobody from Welile will ask for your Mobile Money PIN, your account password or a code to "release" money.
