Sub-agents

Who this is for: sub-agents, and Field Agents who want to understand what their team members see.

A sub-agent does the same field work as a Field Agent — tenants, houses, collections — but does it under a parent agent who recruited, trained and supports them, and who reviews what they submit before it reaches head office.

The work is the same. Two things differ: you have somebody above you, and your submissions have one extra review.

Your parent agent

The agent who recruited you. They are not your employer; they are the person accountable for bringing you onto the platform, and they earn when you do well.

What you can expect from them:

  • training on photographs, on spotting a bad tenant or an unclear landlord, and on recovering arrears;
  • a first review of every Rent Request you submit;
  • an answer to a field question faster than support can give you one;
  • consent to a National ID link, if you do not yet have your own card.

Ask them first when something is unclear on the ground. They know your area. Go to support for anything about your own account, your money or a technical fault.

How you become a sub-agent

You register as an agent in the ordinary way, and you are connected to your parent agent as part of that — through their referral link or invitation.

The steps are the same as any agent's: see how to register. Two points matter more for you than for an independent agent:

  • Use your parent agent's link or code so the connection is recorded. Without it you are registered as independent, and your parent agent gets no visibility of your work.
  • If you have no National ID card yet, you can be linked under your parent agent's, with their consent and an operations check. See parent-agent ID linking.

Once onboarding is complete, check with your parent agent that you appear under them on their team.

Your submissions get reviewed locally first

A Rent Request you post goes to your parent agent or service centre manager before it goes to head office. They check your photos, that the landlord is genuinely known locally, and that the rent figure is realistic.

This is the one real difference in your workflow, and it is on your side: a problem caught by somebody who knows the village is a problem that never becomes a rejection.

What it means in practice: tell your parent agent when you have submitted something. A request waiting unseen at your own service centre is the easiest delay there is to fix.

The full sequence is in following a Rent Request — your submissions simply have that extra first stage.

Your day-to-day work

The procedures are identical to a Field Agent's, so they are documented once:

Your money

Sub-agents hold operational float and earn commission exactly as other agents do, and the same requirements apply before money can be taken out.

Growing beyond a sub-agent

There is nothing permanent about the position. Sub-agents who build a paying portfolio recruit their own team and become parent agents in turn — see your team and service centre for what that involves.
