What Does a Field Agent Do?

A Field Agent helps Welile carry out rental operations in the field.

Depending on current permissions and programme rules, a Field Agent may help with:

  • identifying and supporting tenants;
  • supporting landlords;
  • registering tenants;
  • recording property information;
  • posting rent requests;
  • onboarding or referring Sub-agents;
  • following up on rent activity;
  • supporting rent collection;
  • helping users understand Welile;
  • keeping records accurate;
  • monitoring assigned field activity.

Tenant support

A Field Agent may help tenants:

  • understand Welile;
  • register;
  • provide required rental information;
  • connect to the correct landlord or property;
  • submit a rent request;
  • understand what their Rent Plan costs and what they will repay.

The procedure is in registering a tenant and posting a Rent Request, and the costs to explain to them are in how your rent repayment is calculated.

Landlord support

Field Agents help connect landlords, tenants, properties and rental records correctly — verifying an owner, listing their vacant houses, and paying them when a Rent Plan is funded.

Sub-agent support

Learn how to onboard or refer a Sub-agent, and what a parent agent is responsible for afterwards in your team and service centre.

Rent collection support

Collections are the steady part of the work and the largest part of the income.

Keep records accurate

Never intentionally create:

  • false tenants;
  • false landlords;
  • false properties;
  • false rent requests;
  • false payments;
  • false collections.

Accurate records are essential to the reliability of the Welile ecosystem. They are also what a tenant's financial identity is built from, so a false entry damages a real person's record as well as your own account.
