What to Do If You Cannot Sign In to Welile
Start with Forgot Password on the sign-in page. It works through the phone number or email registered on your account, and it is what resolves most sign-in problems.
Do not register a second account. That is the one action that makes this harder to fix — see below.
Sign in with the details on the account
Use the phone number registered on your Welile account. A number you have since changed, or a relative's number used at registration, will not find your account.
If you are not sure which number the account uses, contact support rather than guessing repeatedly.
Your money is not affected
Being locked out does not change anything you hold. Rent plans carry on, repayments still count, balances stay as they were, and a partner's contribution stays deployed and keeps earning on the agreed terms.
Your password is only how you look at the record. Recovering access does not reset any of your figures — see password and account access for how this works on a partner account.
If the SMS code does not arrive
The code goes to the number registered on the account, so:
- Check you are using that number — not a newer one.
- Check the line itself works. A SIM that has been out of use, or a line with no network at that moment, will not receive it.
- Wait a short while and request it again rather than requesting repeatedly in quick succession.
- Check your message list properly — codes sometimes land below older messages.
A code sent to your own phone is what proves the account is yours. Nobody from Welile will ever ask you to read one out.
If the app asks you to register again
Treat this as a sign-in problem, not an instruction.
Use Forgot Password with your registered number instead of creating a new account. Partners who have seen this screen have got back in that way.
If the reset does not work, contact support and say exactly what the screen shows.
If you are shown an agreement you cannot accept
Some accounts are shown an agreement to accept before they can continue, and it can block what you were trying to do.
If you cannot get past it, contact support with your registered phone number and a screenshot of the screen. What a particular version of the app shows is what governs — describe what you can see rather than what you expected to see, because that is what lets support work out where you are stuck.
Never register a second account
One National ID belongs to one Welile account.
A second account does not give you access to the first one. It puts both under review, and it can hold up withdrawals on each of them. It turns a sign-in problem into an identity problem, and those take considerably longer to sort out.
If you are locked out, contact support. See National ID verification and, for sub-agents without a card of their own, parent-agent ID linking.
If you no longer have the registered phone or email
Contact Welile Support directly and explain.
Expect to answer questions that confirm you are the account holder. That is deliberate — the same checks are what stop somebody else getting into your account.
If your account is open somewhere else
Agents see a warning when their account is signed in on another phone.
If you did not sign in elsewhere, treat it seriously and contact support straight away rather than waiting to see what happens.
What to send support
- The name on the account.
- The phone number or email registered to it.
- A screenshot of the screen you are stuck on, including any message it shows.
- For partners, your portfolio code if you have it.
- What you have already tried.
- Your password. Nobody at Welile needs it, including support.
- A one-time code sent to your phone or email. That code is what proves the account is yours.
- Your Mobile Money PIN. No Welile process requires it.
- A payment to unlock your account. No such fee exists.
Anybody asking for these is trying to get into your account.
